Section 8, or the Housing Choice Voucher Program, helps low-income families afford housing using federal funds.

There is a waiting list to get a Section 8 voucher. A person wishing to get a voucher must apply through the local PHA’s Housing Choice Voucher Program. The program will evaluate the person’s financial stance and will offer a voucher to qualified low-income individuals. The amount of housing assistance received from the Section 8 subsidized program depends on the individual’s income.

Section 8 voucher holders should check Dominion Management’s rental site for properties. You may also find Dominion Management on the Section 8 website. We have properties that are available now as well as properties that are still being renovated. If you are interested in a house that is still being renovated, but must move soon, we still urge you to apply. We may be able to speed up the renovation so that you can move in quickly. If you currently are unhappy with your location or landlord, you can request a move voucher through the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Once your Section 8 move voucher is granted, you will have up to 90 days to find another Section 8 approved rental property.
